Now when Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, Who do people say that the Son of Man is?
And they answered, Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.
He said to them, But who do you [yourselves] say that I am?
Simon Peter replied, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Then Jesus answered him, Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are you, Simon Bar-Jonah. For flesh and blood [men] have not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven.
And I tell you, you are Peter [Greek, Petros—a large piece of rock], and on this rock [Greek, petra—a huge rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers of the infernal region) shall not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out against it].
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth must be what is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what is already loosed in heaven. Matthew 16:13-19
This was said when He had asked the disciples a question about HIs identity.
A variety of answers were given and most were correct, but it was not "personal. The Lord asked them what "THEY' thought.
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Matthew 16:15
Our relationship with God is personal and it is individual.
God does not have "grandsons", but sons and daughters who are redeemed by the blood of Jesus. Scriptures clearly reveal that there is only one way to obtain access to God and be saved.
Our web site contains many pages including the salvation pages that will reveal this in greater detail.
His Church, as we can see elsewhere is not built upon a person per-se, but upon the revelation of Jesus Christ.
In his letter to the Church at Ephesus, Paul spoke not only about them, but about you and me, saying-
Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins.
You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.
All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.
But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much,
that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.
Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. Ephesians 2:18-22
It is evident therefore that in this work of building His Church, the Lord has provided resources, talents and abilities.
Some of these are what we call the Five Ascension Gift Ministries and other aids. The ministry gifts are are listed below-
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: Ephesians 4:11-13.
Paul told a young man, who was the pastor of the largest church in its time to...
Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. But avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness. 2 Timothy 2:15-16.
Our objective is similar to Paul's advice and to fit in with Christ's plan for His Church.
Based on such principles, we want to help you be fulfilled in all areas of life, blessed and fitting into your place in the economy of things, or, the Body of Christ, hopefully without any denomintional bias, culture, tradition or prejudice
The reason is simple. The sooner we all get our collective acts together and get on with the task that Jesus gave the Church 2000 years or so ago, the sooner He will return!
